Shaadify ("Shaadify", "we", "us") is a wedding-planning app for couples and their collaborators. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to the Shaadify mobile apps (Android and iOS) and website.
By creating an account or using Shaadify, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. Information we collect
Account & identity
When you sign up we collect your email address, and depending on how you sign in, your phone number, display name, and profile photo. We support the following sign-in methods: email & password, a one-time code sent to your email, Google Sign-In (which shares your Google email, name, and photo), and phone-number verification by SMS one-time code.
Wedding & planning information
Information you enter to plan your event: partners' names, wedding date, city and venue, ceremonies, guest estimates, budgets and expenses, tasks, vendor details and costs, and any free-text notes you add.
Guest information you provide
To manage invitations and RSVPs, you may add details about your guests — names, phone numbers, email addresses, RSVP status, dietary preferences, and notes. You can add guests manually, import them from your device's contacts (only with your permission, when you choose to), or upload a CSV file. You are responsible for having an appropriate basis to share other people's contact details with us for this purpose.
Photos, files & content
Photos and files you upload — album photos, a wedding cover photo, your profile picture, and receipt images or PDFs — along with any comments or messages you write.
Assistant ("Saathi") & AI content
Messages you send to the in-app assistant, images you attach to it, and voice input you provide (which your device or browser converts to text). See Section 4 for how this is processed by AI.
Payments & subscriptions
When you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by our payment providers (Razorpay on the web, Google Play Billing on Android). We do not receive or store your full card or bank details. We store your subscription status, plan, billing cycle, invoice amounts (including tax), and a one-way hashed reference to your purchase — enough to grant your plan and issue an invoice.
Device & technical information
To send notifications, we store a push-notification token for your device and the device platform (Android/iOS/web). You can disable notifications at any time in your device or app settings.
Usage analytics
We record pseudonymous product-usage events (for example, which screens are opened and which actions are taken) linked to your account identifier, to understand and improve the app. These events are designed to exclude personal content such as names, emails, or free text. Analytics can be turned off from within the app.
2. How we use your information
- To provide the core service — creating and managing weddings, guests, budgets, tasks, vendors, albums, and invitations.
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- To send invitations, RSVP requests, and reminders to the recipients you specify, and to send you service notifications.
- To power the Saathi assistant and invitation-drafting features (see Section 4).
- To process subscriptions, payments, and invoices.
- To understand usage, fix problems, and improve the product.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
3. AI features
Shaadify's assistant ("Saathi") and invitation-drafting features are powered by Google's Gemini AI. To answer your requests, we send relevant planning context to Google Gemini, which may include: your wedding details (couple names, type, date, city), budget totals and overspend categories, guest counts by RSVP status, ceremony names and dates, your task titles and due dates, vendor names and costs, your chat messages, and any images you attach (such as receipts). When you ask the assistant about your guest list, guest names may be sent; guest emails and phone numbers are not sent to the AI.
This information is processed by Google to generate the assistant's responses, under Google's applicable terms. If you would prefer not to have your data processed this way, do not use the assistant or invitation-drafting features.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that operate Shaadify, and only as needed to run the service:

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or users' safety, or in connection with a business transfer.
5. Invitations & public RSVP links
When you send an invitation, the recipient receives a link that lets them view limited event details (such as the couple's names, date, venue, and cover photo) and submit an RSVP without needing an account. Anyone holding that link can view those details, so share invitation links only with the intended guests.
6. Data retention & deletion
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You are in control of your data:
- Delete individual items — guests, tasks, expenses, vendors, albums, photos, invitations, and notifications — at any time in the app.
- Delete a wedding you own, which removes the wedding and its associated records.
- Delete your account from Settings. This deletes your profile, your notification tokens, your billing records, and the weddings you solely own (including their planning data), and removes your sign-in identity. Weddings you share with others remain for those other members.
Some information may be retained for a limited period where required for legal, tax, security, or backup purposes, and residual copies of uploaded files may persist in backups for a short time after deletion. Messages and content shared into a wedding you collaborate on may remain visible to that wedding's other members.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, authenticated access, and server-side security rules that restrict data to the members of each wedding. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your rights & choices
- Access, correct, or update your information in the app.
- Delete your data or account as described in Section 6.
- Turn off push notifications and usage analytics.
- Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (such as access, portability, or objection). Contact us to exercise them.
9. Children
Shaadify is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International data
Shaadify is operated using Google Cloud infrastructure hosted in India (Mumbai region). If you use Shaadify from outside India, your information will be transferred to and processed in India and other locations where our service providers operate.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use of Shaadify after a change means you accept the updated policy.
